sports-minded individuals for the full-time position of Running Footwear
Retail Sales / Marketing Representative. You will drive sales and create
brand awareness for our client, a leading national athletic footwear
company. This is an exciting position, and an opportunity to work for

As a full-time
Running Footwear Retail Sales / Marketing Representative, you will maximize
sales of our client's products at a national sporting goods chain by
visiting your 6-8 assigned stores on a specific weekly schedule (1-2
stores/day). You will educate consumers and store personnel on the features
and benefits of our client's products, focusing on their award-winning
running footwear, leading to an increase in sales and consumer awareness.
Responsibilities
include increasing mindshare among retail store associates and consumers,
enhancing and maintaining product displays, providing formal and informal
product training to store associates, develop/execute account sales
incentive contests, work special events and assist with athlete appearances
as needed, conduct inventory counts and communicate fill-in opportunities.
You will
also work closely with retail associates and managers to ensure they
are trained on new product launches and promotions. Your ability to
build relationships with store personnel and to work directly with consumers
is important in achieving the goals of this program.
The successful
candidate chosen for this full-time, benefited position will have/be:
* A passion
for the sport of running (competitive running experience a plus!)
* A sports-minded individual with high energy and motivation
* Ability to train and convey features and benefits of athletic footwear
to both consumers and sales associates
* Comfortable with face-to-face interaction in a retail environment
* Able to secure "conquest" sales, converting competitors'
consumers to our client's products, results driven
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable speaking
in front of small groups
* Comfortable building relationships and working with all layers of
management
* Able to work weekends. Targeted schedule will include working a full-time
40 hour/week schedule for five days per week. Primarily Wednesdays -
Fridays (3-9 pm), Saturdays (12-9 pm) and Sundays (12-6 pm) on a rotation
that will allow for one weekend off per month.
* Reliable transportation to travel within your territory
* Competency in Microsoft Excel and Word
* Must have internet/e-mail access and computer/printer
* Prior experience in retail footwear sales a plus!
* BS/BA in business, communication, marketing/sports marketing or equivalent
preferred
