NEW YORK ROAD RUNNERS PROFESSIONAL RACING SERIES TO BE LAUNCHED THIS YEAR

NEW YORK, Feb 12 - New York Road Runners announced the creation of the New York Road Runners Professional Racing Series featuring the New York City Marathon on Nov. 2 and the organization's additional prize-money elite events, the USA Men's 8K Championships on April 5 and New York Mini on June 7. NYRR officials will look to create new promotional opportunities for sponsors linking the events and to offer prize-money bonuses for athletes participating in more than one event in the series, including a proposed $100,000 bonus for a woman winning both the Mini and the NYC Marathon in the same year.
