No other girl has ever done that, but Lynne Strauss of State College, Pennsylvania, finished second in '79 and '80...	With less than two tenths of a mile to go, Jordan Hasay had put more distance on the field and was dominating the race. She went on to win in 17:05, tying the eighth-fastest time run at this meet on this course.
	Hasay became the second freshman ever to win this title (Erin Davis, in '93, was the first). One observer said that she looked so fresh when she crossed the finish line that it looked like she could have gone another 5K.

	...and third in '81. Lawrence has finished second to three different champions, and she still has one year of high school to go. Her time here, 17:19, would have been good enough to win each of the past three years.
	So few Foot Locker champions have successfully defended titles here, but Aislinn Ryan ran a gutsy race and still put forth a very solid performance.
