The first round had been cancelled because the field was small. Hazel Clark and Kameisha Bennett led on the first lap.	Clark (2:02.47) won the first semi-final and Bennett finished second (2:03.16).	Sasha Spencer (left, 3rd, 2:04.72) and Mishael Bertrand (right, fifth, 2:05.05) advanced, as did LSU's Tanya Osborne (behind Spencer, 4th, 2:04.97).
