Tiffany McWilliams led the second heat early on. As the sun went down, getting decent photos became more of a challenge.	Shayne Culpepper was in the same boat as Tollefson - she had finished fourth in the 5,000 and would only be on the World team if Lauren Fleshman didn't get her "A" standard. So Culpepper was back to try again, shortly after the 5,000 final.	Tiffany McWilliams and Jen Toomey lead Arianna Lambie (mostly obscured) and Sarah Schwald.	Sarah Schwald won the second heat in 4:13.25 and Jen Toomey finished a close second in 4:13.26. Only three athletes did not advance from this prelim, and unfortunately one of them was Culpepper.
