Shortly after the 1K mark, Shalane Flanagan, the defending champion, had already jumped out to a lead. Shayne Culpepper runs in second place, just ahead of Lauren Fleshman and Blake Russell. Blake Russell runs just behind Culpepper and Fleshman.
