Katie McGregor, Roisin McGettigan, and Carrie Tollefson led the remainder of the field.

Sentayehu Ejigu (behind Meseret Defar) seemed a little caught off guard by the fast start... ...but she had caught up to Sinclair and Defar by the third lap. Tara Quinn-Smith of Canada runs in the pack. Quinn-Smith again. Sinclair's pace was too fast for the first 400 meters, which she hit in about 1:06.8. The top three went through 600 meters in 1:42.
