With a couple hundred meters to go, the race between Blake Russell and Colleen De Reuck was still close... ...but Russell pulled away to win her first USA Cross Country title in 26:47. Colleen De Reuck had a great race to finish second in 26:49. Sara Slattery, 24, was in third place heading into the homestretch, but she was caught by her former CU teammate, Renee Metivier. Slattery finished fourth in 27:01 and qualified for the World Cross Country team.
