McGettigan leads Hall. After clicking off a series of 35 second laps, Meseret Defar ran her last three laps... in 34, 32, and 30. After running in second place for much of the race, Sentayehu Ejigu had to work a bit to hold off the pack behind her. She held on to second, though, finishing in 8:57.79. Courtney Babcock leads Carrie Tollefson, Megan Metcalfe, Sara Hall, and others.

After crossing the finish line in 8:30.94 - the third fastest indoor 3K ever run by a woman - Meseret Defar sat down on the track and watched everyone else finish. It was a great race for third, which was won by Katie McGregor (9:01.79). Carrie Tollefson (4th, 9:01.80), Sara Hall (5th, 9:01.95), and Megan Metcalfe (6th, 9:02.04) followed closely.
