Mortimer moved to Boston to attend graduate school in the fall... ...and is now a volunteer assistant coach at Boston College. Kelly Strong runs in seventh place.

Flanagan, 23, held on to her lead and won her second-straight USA 4K title in 13:24.3. Flanagan finished 14th in the 4K at the 2004 World XC Championships and would be looking to improve upon that this year.
